Hello and greetings from Mexico City on this rainy but peaceful night. There’s something magical about the rain and the night, especially when you’re in a safe, calm space. It’s a beauty that brings a sense of tranquility. Tonight, I’m here hanging out with my cat, Chester—or as I affectionately call him in Mexican slang, Wero, which means "blonde" (he's a ginger tabby). Together, we’re contemplating life and working on new music. It takes a lot of concentration to make things happen, and in the process, we can often be hard on ourselves.
As I sit here, I want to share a thought that’s been on my mind. No matter what time of day it is for you when you read this, let’s try not to be so hard on ourselves. Instead, let’s aim to be our own best friends. Let’s strive for bigger things, set higher goals, and work on becoming better people. But let’s approach these goals from a place of self-compassion, not self-criticism.
Learning to be your best friend means practicing self-love, not just talking about it. Basically It think its a great idea to plant the seed in your soul of becoming your very best friend and treating yourself as...think about how your best friend treats you. Even with your shortcomings and imperfections, they always believe in you and see the best in you. They’re your number one fan. It might be a family member or a close friend, but that kind of support is so nourishing. You can start becoming that person for yourself—the best friend you’ve always wanted. This opens the door to self-validation, recognizing your strengths, forgiving your mistakes, and being kinder to yourself.
I’m talking about myself here, too. By embracing this mindset, we can become better friends, better members of society, and overall better people. I believe this approach can help anyone who’s listening. Even if it’s just one person, I’m here to share something good from my soul, from my heart.
As I work on creating new music, I’m going to try applying this mindset. It takes a lot of effort to face tasks without feeling invalidated by what you achieve or don’t achieve. Instead, let’s celebrate our accomplishments, no matter how small. Like "WOW, I did this today!" Let’s pat ourselves on the back and validate our efforts.
Thank you so much for listening. Have a beautiful night, day, morning, afternoon, or evening—whatever it is for you! Wishing you the best!
Ciao Ciao!
